let's improve health and healthcare together!

QI, PI, Quality Improvement

Earn CME/CE Credit and, Where Applicable, Continuing Certification Performance Improvement Credit

Whether you're an individual clinician, an interprofessional healthcare team, or an entire healthcare organization, IPMA helps improve health and healthcare through structured quality improvement initiatives. Our evidence-based approach strengthens clinical performance, enhances patient outcomes, and supports safer, higher-quality care. Eligible projects may also satisfy continuing education (CME/CE) and continuing certification performance improvement requirements for participating specialty boards.

Our approach follows a proven three-stage quality improvement framework:

Assess

Successful improvement initiative begins with understanding current performance and identifying opportunities to improve health and healthcare. During the assessment phase, your team collects and analyzes baseline data to identify performance gaps and opportunities for improvement. Together, we develop a clear aim statement, map current workflows, identify root causes, and establish meaningful measures to track progress.

Improve

Using evidence-based QI methods, including Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles, your team tests targeted interventions designed to improve care. Comparing intervention data with baseline performance helps determine which changes improve care, produce better outcomes, and should be sustained or expanded.

Reflect

QI is an ongoing process. After implementing changes, your team evaluates results, reflects on lessons learned, and determines how successful interventions can be sustained and spread throughout the organization. This phase reinforces continuous learning, supports long-term sustainability, and identifies opportunities to spread successful improvements across the organization.

Through this structured framework, IPMA helps healthcare organizations improve health and healthcare by building a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement. Using proven improvement methodologies, organizations can enhance patient outcomes, strengthen healthcare systems, improve patient safety, reduce unwarranted variation, and deliver more effective, equitable, efficient, and patient-centered care.

Our experienced QI advisors are ready to help you design, implement, and evaluate your next improvement initiative. Contact us today to learn how IPMA can help your organization improve health and healthcare through evidence-based quality improvement.
