Interstate Postgraduate Medical Association, a physician-led 501(c)(3) organization, designs and provides independent education for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other health care professionals. For over 100 years, IPMA has excelled at managing the following steps in the educational process:

  • In-depth, comprehensive needs assessment to identify educational gaps
  • Educational methodology designed around proven adult learning principles
  • Innovative learning formats such as interactive web-based education, smartphone applications, self-assessment tools, point-of care learning, and quality improvement
  • Evidence-based clinical content that addresses the identified needs of health care professionals
  • High-level outcomes assessment to measure educational impact
  • Portfolio Sponsor which enables us to help with MOC QI certification

Each educational initiative is carefully designed to effectively change physician practice, impact physician performance, and ultimately improve patient and community health.

Founded in 1916, IPMA has been guided by some of medicine's great teachers, including Dr. William J. Mayo, Dr. Charles H. Mayo, and Dr. Alton Ochsner.  Our diverse educational offerings include comprehensive needs assessments that identify learner gaps and educational needs; cutting-edge performance improvement initiatives that incorporate self-directed learning to advance clinical practice, and ASCENT, our physician leadership program that enhances professional and personal development.

IPMA can also provide AANP, ACHE, California Board of Registered Nursing, and Continuing Pharmacy Education credits.
