Palliative Care Education

Developed by practicing family physicians, this KSA provides physicians the opportunity to brush up on their knowledge in Palliative Care.  Integrate this content into your next meeting.  We've developed ready to use slides for the 60-question approved ABFM Palliative Care KSA which is approved as a KSA for 10 points and 8 CE credits.  Use your own faculty or we can provide expert faculty for your meeting.

The course can be delivered via video conference all at one time or offered over the course of a few weeks.  The education has been incredibly well received and has led to significant practice changes.

You have the opportunity to engage in advance care planning discussions with your patients, improve documentation of these conversations, and receive Board activity points for participating in a performance improvement project.   

This module will walk you through the PI process to identify an improvement opportunity, implement a change in care delivery, and measure the impact of that change.  Upon completion, you will earn points for your Board requirements for Performance Improvement.

IPMA partnered with QURE Healthcare to integrate the Palliative Care KSA and PI into Advocate Physician Partners' interactive patient simulations.  Board certified physicians through the ABIM or ABFM received board credit for their successful completion of the educational modules. 

86% of the physicians were extremely satisfied with the content, ease, and usefulness of the modules.  They also gave high ratings for their ability to incorporate into practice palliative care quality improvement due to their participation in this education.
